Wood Block Prints

I LOVE the first print and seeing how your hard working carving (be it lino or wood carving) has turned out! I've started with a simple repeat pattern and judged by eye how far apart to leave the leave, this was made easier by comparing the two patterns side by side. In a dull moment one of my prints will be used for my next project and will be printed on material and used to cover and upholster a chair..! Very exciting!

New Logo Design

I've been working on a new project to design a logo for a childrens nursery, the brief was to design a logo which painted the scene of a countryside setting with horses nearby.

The front door is a lovely duck egg blue which led the beginning of the design, using a similar colour for the leaves and the heart - the window detailing on the house even uses a small hint of green to complete the design.

I created this by drawing and painting a few elements and then enhancing these digitally - the house is a mixture of both, but the horses and flowers show a definite hand drawn detail.

I'm happy to say that the logo was well loved and has been used throughout the marketing for the new business! Hurrah! Click here to see the final logo and all the small details which add a personal touch to the website..

Woodcarving classes

I've been learning how to carve intricate patterns and 3D shapes in Lime Wood, time seems to fly at these woodcarving classes.

Looking forward to seeing the result of the leaf wood block print!
